I'm so excited I have just completed the last two of the Level 2 Certification Classes at Altenew! Magical Markers is the first of the two. These classes are so educational, inspiring and just plain fun!!! I know that everyone isn't interested in becoming certified but taking classes, any classes at Altenew is an experience you should try.
Time to move onto my card projects for the Magical Marker Class.
Most of my inspiration for these two cards came from Day 3 and Day 4 of this class. I don't always find markers to be my go to for card making. This class taught me how to take advantage of markers in my artwork.
I started by splattering my card background on the top of my card base. I used blue and black ink splatters. I attached a piece of blue and white card stock to the bottom of the card front. I stamped the sentiment in Altenew permanent black Crisp Ink and attached it to the bottom left side of the card front. I tied a piece of twine around the top of the blue and white paper on the bottom. Next I stamped my flower and leaf outlines on vellum and colored them with markers. The Stamp and die sets I used were Build a Flower Japanese Mum and Beautiful Day. Both sets are available on the Altenew.com website. The Marker sets I used were Cool Summer Night (3 shades) and Green Fields (2 shades). Die cutting the flower and leaves came next and arranging them on the card front. I used an Altenew drop for a pop of color in the center of the flower and Nuvo drops for dimension.
The pink card is a lot of the same thing from the card above but the arrangement is a little different. I hope you enjoy the difference the color changes make in my cards.
Creativity doesn't always come at the drop of a hat. For me especially when it's a marker challenge. I learned not to be blocked by insecurity. Just jump right in and try. It takes practice!
I hope you have a great day and try making a card or two using Altenew markers.
