Class - Impressive Heat Embossing

Altenew's Heat Embossing Class

Wow! What a fun class taught by Svetlanna Marchenko.  This class is loaded with great information and lots of techniques!!!  If you get a chance to sign up for this one it is really good.  I've stamped for a long time but there is always something to learn.  I started these cards by stamping the outline with embossing ink and powder.  Then I heat embossed with a heat gun.  The next step was to water color the pieces.  I have to say that when I started the water coloring of the flowers I didn't like my first layer.  As I started to add more color and move it around with water I began to really want to see more.  The rose and orange flowers on the green card was my first. I like this card a lot except for the placement of the leaves.  I thought I could place all my elements on the first layer all at once.  Well....I can't.  I should have definitely done the flowers first then masked and done the leaves.  My card has the leaves floating out in empty space instead of connected to the flowers.  Lesson 1 learned!  When I got to the lavender cards I had an issue with my die cuts.  The die pulled up some of the white embossed portion of the element.  Two things here...first my die must have been a little off the line, second I think if I maybe used a piece of wax paper between the die and the image this wouldn't have happened.  But oh my goodness did I have fun!  Die cutting, water coloring, placing the elements, deciding on the backrounds, adding the splattering and adding the Nuvo drops.   The Altenew stamp and die set is the Build a Flower Dahlia. You can see this set at www.Altenew.com.  Go Explore the site.  You'll find a ton of inspiration and lots more product to choose from.  Hopefully you have some carding making going on this weekend.  I do!!!
Above is a picture of tree of the cards I made after taking this class.  You can see that color changes the whole look of a card.

I really hope you enjoyed my blog and pictures!  Please leave me a comment if you have any questions!  Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Wow, Linda, your creations are surely made of love and lots of labor and attentions! I would suggest that you use the larger size for your photos. When you upload photos to the the blog, click the photo and there are various sizes for you to choose from. I think it's safe to use large or extra large , yours is in medium right now. I love the watercolor images and how you layered them with the background! I am so glad that you enter your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Awesome details and design! Super work!
