Level 2 AECP Classes
CREATIVE WATERCOLOR MEDIA
Mother's Day is Sunday so I thought I would catch up my blog with the latest cards I made for Creative Watercolor Media. This set of classes was taught by three very talented instructors Jennifer Rzasa, Debbie Hughes and Laura Basson. Such fun classes using different tools for water coloring. These classes were a challenge for me because I don't own any sprays and my only reinker is black. So I improvised using my mini cube inks. My first card is from lesson #3 . It is my first shaker card. I love creating something I haven't done in the past. The back ground was done using Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper. I blended three colors from the Golden Sunset mini inks. Using Garden Grows and Life is Beautiful stamp set I stamped images using Permanent (we don't want the ink to smear or spread when using water) Black Altenew ink. Then I used my Prismacolor watercolor pencils and blender to color the images. The window shaker came from Queen and Company. The flowers on the frame are two step stamping with Sunray, Velvet and Rouge mini inks..
I'm leaving the first construction picture smaller because I didn't realize the photo was a little blurry and I can't go back and take it again. I'm learning..... This photo is just to provide a look at the process of things like fussy cutting, embellishment layout and tools.
Here is the finished card. I am so proud of how it turned out.
I created two more cards. Using info I learned from Jennifer Rzasa in Class #4 Ink Sprays. For these cards I needed to improvise because I don't own ink sprays. I used my mini cubes and water to create splattered back rounds with two shades of ink. The stamp and die set is Peony Spray. I used three shades of ink for the leaves to make a loose watercolor image. Both flowers are popped up using foam squares. I also used three ink colors for the flowers. On the pink card I fussy cut images from Altenew's Reflections Paper Pack for my embellishments. On the green card I used Black Nuvo drops. Two cards that are very similar and yet different.
Happy Mother's Day to any of you who are Mother's!!!! And Happy Weekend to all of you!!!!
